Communion of Choirs
The 2011 Communion of Choirs event scheduled for April 28-30 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury, MD has been canceled. Due to many church scheduling conflicts with Easter programs this April, we were forced to make the difficult decision to cancel this year's event. Our heart, to offer Praise and Worship of Jesus Christ in words and music, is ever present and we will contact all interested Choirs as any future events develop.
Note - The 2010 competition was canceled due to severe winter weather
In November of '09, members of the competing Communion of Choirs were invited to form a combined choir to accompany Sandi Patty at the opening performance of her national Christmas Season concert tour in Georgetown, Delaware. It was an exciting and rewarding event and we expect to provide our contestants the opportunity to participate in other combined choral programs in the coming years. Competition Hailed a Huge Success
The Second Annual Mountaire Communion of Choirs choral competition was held April 16-17-18 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Salisbury, Maryland. Two thousand spectators were on hand during the three day event to witness twenty-five choirs ranging in size from a minimum of 22 members to 69 participants. They sang from the sanctuary risers and arrived from all walks of the Delmarva Peninsula to compete for the following prizes and the right to sing the praises of our Lord Jesus Christ in words and music.
The Winners are:

First Place: Trinity United Methodist Church, Salisbury, MD, $5,000
Second Place: Asbury Festival Choir, Salisbury, MD. $ 4,000
Third Place: Calvary Baptist Church, Dover, DE $3,000
Fourth Place: Wicomico Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, MD, $2,000
Fifth Place: Crossroads Church of God, Fruitland, MD, $1,000
Sixth Place: Central Mennonite Church, Dover, DE, $500
An exciting special award was donated from a drawing to the winning church among all of the choirs contesting. Members of The Wicomico Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, were the lucky winners as they drew the winning ticket: and were awarded a one thousand dollar portable digital piano with extra equipment, supplied in a partnership by Mountaire Farms and the piano and organ expert company; Keyboard America from Lewes, Delaware.
