Communion of Choirs
Mountaire Farms is excited to extend an invitation to all choirs on Delmarva to participate in the 3rd Annual Mountaire Communion of Choirs Competition, which will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury, MD on April 29, 30 & May 1. This three day event is designed to highlight and honor Delmarva choirs in a spiritually-competitive format, where the most outstanding performances are rewarded with cash prizes. The church choirs judged to be in the top 6 receive cash prizes ranging from $5,000 for first place down to $500 for 6th place.
This past December, members of the competing Communion of Choirs were invited to form a combined choir to accompany Sandi Patty at the opening performance of her national Christmas Season concert tour in Georgetown, Delaware. It was an exciting and rewarding event and we expect to provide our contestants the opportunity to participate in other combined choral programs during the coming year. For highlights of our combined Communion of Choirs performing with Sandi Patty click here.
We’d love to have your choir participate this year to share the praises of our Lord Jesus Christ in words and music. To enter please fill print out an application form and mail it in on or before the March 26th deadline. Please take note of our specific requirements as those not meeting those requirements will not be accepted. Choirs must consist of a minimum of 12 adults, but not exceed 60. Trinity United Methodist Church will provide drums, a bass amp, a guitar amp, piano, electric piano and pipe organ in order to ease travel arrangements on all choirs and eliminate long set-up times. Performance slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis, so please get your applications in early in order to secure your preferred date.
Once we receive your application you will be sent an information packet on the event or for more information before you apply click here.
If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail Phyllis Oldham at pboldham@comcast.net

Two thousand spectators were on hand during the three day event to witness twenty-five choirs ranging in size from a minimum of 22 members to 69 participants. They sang from the sanctuary risers and arrived from all walks of the Delmarva Peninsula to compete for the following prizes and the right to sing the praises of our Lord Jesus Christ in words and music.
The Winners are:

First Place: Trinity United Methodist Church, Salisbury, MD, $5,000
